Bryan Elementary first-graders Brynn Fox-Carter, Harlan Wiley, Enrique Bray and Leah Balk, along with teacher Crystal Burch present to Staff Sargent Doug Dixon a check for $430.33. Sgt. Dixon accepted the check on behalf of United Through Reading, an organization which helps deployed or otherwise physically separated service members connect with their children at home through story time. Burch’s class raised the most money for the Kiss the Pig contest and chose UTR as the charity of choice. The school raised a total of $860.66 during the fundraiser. Half of that will go to UTR with the other half going to PTO, which hosted the contest.
