Nevada High School, middle school grapplers host home meets
In their home-debut Thursday evening at Wynn Gym, the Nevada Tiger wrestling team was upended by visiting Osage and Bolivar high schools. Nevada fell to Osage 60-18, and was defeated by Bolivar, 57-18.
Nevada’s lone wrestler to notch a pair of victories was Caleb Longobari, as the senior standout upped his record to 7-1 through the first two meets of the season.
“It was a tough night on the mats,” said third-year Nevada head coach David Hawks. “We came out flat against Osage, we weren’t quite ready. I thought we wrestled better against Bolivar. Although, the score may not have necessarily reflected that, our effort was certainly better.”
Added Hawks: “(Freshman) Ethan Dighero was wrestling a tough senior, and he didn’t get intimidated by (the) older wrestler.”
