Nine Nevada spikers net Academic All-State accolades
Nine Nevada High School Lady Tiger volleyball players have been named to the Missouri Class 3 Academic All-State Team, the school recently announced.
Those players, were: seniors Sydney Ernsbarger, Adrian Bond, Laiken Cussimanio, Hailey Jackson, and juniors Lindley Ferry, Stacy Pennington, Lani Coonrod, Teagan Charles, and Julia Cassidy.
“Congratulations to (those) players for earning academic all-state for their hard work in the classroom,” said Nevada High head coach Ashley Thoreson.
“This is a great achievement, and a perfect representation of the outstanding student-athletes that are a part of Nevada volleyball and Nevada High School,” summed up Thoreson.
Editor’s note: Academic All-State requirements include: A 3.60 cumulative grade point average or higher, and to have played in 75 percent or more of the the team’s 2018 contests. Nevada concluded its season 25-8 overall, falling in the district semifinals to Oak Grove.
