KCP&L customers to benefit from tax savings
According to a press release, Kansas City Power and Light Company (KCP&L) states that customers will notice a deduction from their original billing amount on their February statements. “In January 2018, the federal government reduced corporate tax rates as part of the Tax Cut & Jobs Act, which decreased the corporate tax rate from 35 percent to 21 percent,” noted the press release. “We’re passing along 100 pecent of those savings. Customers in our Greater Missouri Operations territory will receive a one-time credit on February 2019 bills.
The credit will post on February bills in the Other Transactions Section and will be titled “Tax Cut & Jobs Act Credit.”
If a customer in the Greater Missouri Operations territory had an active account as of Dec. 31, 2018, they received the credit.”
