Rich Hill’s Coonce inks with Comet hoops team
Rich Hill High School star guard Taylor Coonce has inked a letter-of-intent to continue her hoops career at Cottey College, the school recently announced.
The 5-foot-8 Rich Hill product eclipsed the 1,000 point plateau for her career, en route to first-team All-Conference and first-team All-District accolades her senior campaign this past season.
“Taylor truly is a one-stop shop at Rich Hill,” said Comets’ head basketball coach Stephanie Beason, via a press release from the school. “Over her high school career, she has been involved in numerous clubs and organizations, including: student council, speech and drama, four athletic programs, choir, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Future Farmers of America (FFA), National Honor Society (NHS), Relay for Life and Mathletes.”
Added Beason: “Taylor has also given back to her community by volunteering for many organizations. This includes a benefit for 'Jessica’s Journey,' Rich Hill Little League Sports Association, the Booster Club Snack Shack, and as a senior ambassador for the Veteran’s Assembly.”
Beason said she’s thrilled to have landed a talented local product.
“Taylor is a go-getter, and involves herself in anything she can in her community,” noted Beason. “I’m excited to see her growth over the next four years, as she makes strides to adjust to a different level of play, and gets involved around campus. She’s a competitor, and I have no doubt that she will have a successful career here at Cottey.”
