Elnora Alberta Leak (Painter)
Elnora A. Painter “Puzzy”, 91, passed with peace and grace on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019, with family at her side. She was born March 12, 1928, in Appleton City, Mo., the daughter of Luther A. Leak and Ruby E. Penfold.
Elnora graduated Valedictorian from Schell City High School. Following graduation, she worked on her parent’s farm in Schell City and then also worked as a P.A. III for the State of Missouri. She was formally married to Levi T. Rawlings and Don A. Painter. Elnora was loved by so many; her kindness touched many lives throughout the years. She was a generous soul that had a love for music, dancing, spending time with loved ones, traveling, caring for animals and being the life of the party. She was a devoted mother and grandmother that had class and style. Her presence filled the room with positivity and laughter. Her strong determination, zest for life and sharing past time stories will be missed dearly. As we cherish the memories and live on through her legacy, we will remember her sitting there with a Dr. Pepper in hand saying, “you can’t win ‘em all."
She is preceded in death by Levi Rawlings and Don Painter. Survivors include two daughters, Debi Adams and Vicki Metzler; four grandchildren; three great- grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
