A number of Nevada High student-athletes were recently recognized with postseason accolades — including four Lady Tiger volleyball players, and a pair of NHS gridders.
After concluding the season with a sparkling 26-6-1 overall record, NHS senior spikers Stacy Pennington and Lindley Ferry were tabbed as All-Big 8 Conference West division First-Team selections — while senior libero Lani Coonord, and senior setter Lindy Smith were All-Big 8 West Second-Team selections.
Pennington, an outside hitter, was also named the Big 8 West co-Player of the Year — while NHS head coach Ashley Thoreson netted Big 8 West Coach of the Year honors.
