Nevada Regional Medical Center (NRMC) held its 17th Annual Caring with Pride Golf Classic fundraiser event — Friday at Frank E. Peters Municipal Golf Course. All proceeds from the event went to the hospital's recently established Emergency Response Fund — for employees to utilize during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Natalie Eberhard, NRMC Community Relations and Foundation Manager, said she was pleased with the turnout. With 30 teams competing in three different flights, Eberhard said they were near their goal of $20,000 raised for the event. Eberhart said the event normally caps out with a grand total of 36 teams, but because of date changes due to inclement weather, four teams had previously dropped out.

Eberhard said the money raised will help to replenish personal protective equipment, and also be dispersed in areas such as telehealth.

"We really appreciate all of the volunteers, because it takes a lot of work to pull it off," she said, adding it was one of NRMC's single-biggest fundraiser events. "Including our board, and the people who come out and run it — as well as the city for supporting us, and making it happen. And, of course, all of the players and our sponsors."
