Nevada woman arrested on felony burglary and assault charges
Amanda Sue King, 36 of rural Nevada, was arraigned on felony burglary and assault charges earlier this week.
A warrant stemming from a July 31 Nevada Police Department investigation was issued for King's arrest. King was charged with first-degree felony burglary, third-degree felony assault (special victim), and a single misdemeanor charge of second-degree property charge. Under Missouri law, the assault of a special victim is defined as "a law enforcement officer, emergency personnel, a probation and parole officer, an elderly person, a person with a disability, a vulnerable person , a jailer or corrections officer, a highway worker, a utility worker, a cable worker or an employee of a mass transit system," according to www.trblaw.com.
King, whose bond was set at $15,000 cash-only, said she would apply for a public defender. A bond reduction hearing was scheduled for Thursday in associate court, but no further information was available as of press time Friday.
