Comet spikers drop quartet of matches in Iowa

It was a rugged start to the season for the Cottey Comet volleyball team, dropping all four of their matches over the weekend at William Penn (Iowa) University.

Cottey (0-4) opened Saturday against host William Penn, falling 11-25, 11-25, 15-25. Against Briar Cliff (Iowa) University, the Comets were upended 15-25, 19-25, 15-25.

Cottey returned to the court for a pair of Sunday matches, falling to Mount Mary (Wisc.) University 13-25, 5-25, 21-25. They wrapped play with a four-set loss to Graceland University (Iowa) 13-25, 25-21, 22-25, 19-25.

Cottey returns to the court Thursday (Sept. 10) for their home-opener, as they're set to square off with Kansas Christian College. The match is slated for a 6:30 p.m. start-time.
