Nevada spikers bested by Chicks
In a non-conference road match-up Thursday night, the Nevada Lady Tiger volleyball team was upended in three sets by the Pleasant Hill Chicks.
The Chicks took the first set in decisive fashion, 25-7. The second-set was played a little tighter, with Pleasant Hill coming away with the 25-16 win. The Chicks then dominated the third set, 25-9, to secure the sweep.
The loss moves Nevada to 0-6 overall on the season, while Pleasant Hill improves to 3-1.
Nevada stat-leaders included junior setter Jade Feller — with a team-high 18 assists, while senior Laney Coons recorded eight digs. Additionally for Nevada, sophomore Trinity Gayman tallied a pair of aces, while freshman Delaney Hope chipped in two blocks.
In the junior varsity contest, Nevada fell in two sets — 9-25, 16-25. The Chicks made it a clean sweep, winning the C-team contest by scores of 25-18, 25-21.
Nevada returns to the court Sept. 22, for a non-conference home-match with the undefeated Clinton Lady Cardinals (4-0).
