Relocation of animal shelter progresses
The Nevada Animal Shelter's new building is one step closer to being built. The Nevada City Council has approved resolutions to accept financial assistance from the United States government in the amount of nearly $400,000. An environmental review will also be completed by Kaysinger Basin Regional Planning Commission (KBRPC). The primary focus of KBRPC is to provide professional planning services and technical assistance to members within the region.
In public participation at Tuesday's city council meeting, representatives voiced their concerns with the location of the animal shelter. The council assured those present that measures were in place to address their concerns.
