Shirley Ann Pitts

Shirley Ann Pitts, 74, Bronaugh, Mo., passed away on Monday, Oct. 5, 2020, at Nevada Regional Medical Center. Shirley was born April 25, 1946, in Carthage, Mo., to Verlin D. and Wilma (Barker) Orr. She was united in marriage to Harry “Red” Pitts on Sept. 14, 1963, in Liberal, Mo., and he preceded her in death on Aug. 22, 2018.

Shirley was raised in Carthage and Nevada and attended Nevada High School. She worked at Vernon County Mutual Insurance for a time, and then cleaned homes in the Bronaugh and Nevada area for a number of years.

Survivors include her adopted daughter, Amy Leonard (Clark), Milo, Mo.; nephews, Paul Pitts (Katie), Bronaugh, Mo., and Carl Ricketts (Kandette), Nevada, Mo.; niece, Lillie Ann (Pitts) Wingate (Doug), Nevada, Mo.; and numerous extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 9, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Ed Post officiating. Private interment will follow in Worsley Cemetery in Bronaugh. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested in her memory to Worsley Cemetery in Nevada.
