The Nevada Tiger Freshmen Boys Basketball were victorious over Big 8 opponent Mt. Vernon, 45-21, on Monday night in the Monett Tournament. Coach Ross Wolfe was very happy with the performance of his freshmen team.

"We controlled the tempo of the game from the start," stated Wolfe. "We played aggressive on the defensive end, creating turnovers leading to easy transition points."

The Tigers were led by Brice Budd who was the team high scorer with 12 points. Coach Wolfe felt that for the first game of the season, the offense was very efficient.

"Offensively, we executed well and were able to get a lot of good looks at the basket," noted Wolfe. "It was a great team win and a great way to start the season."

The freshmen are scheduled for Carthage on Wednesday.
