Charles Richard Hinkle

Charles Richard Hinkle, 92, of Sheldon, Mo., passed away Jan. 23, 2021, at Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada, Mo.

Charles was born June 16, 1928, in Lamar, Mo., to Ralph Hamilton Hinkle and Elva Sue (Harbison) Hinkle. On Nov. 30, 1952, Charles married Joyce Katheran Tiedt in Lamar, Mo.

Charles served in the United States Army and worked as a Cab Assembler at John Deere in Waterloo, Iowa, for 28 years. Charles was a member of the Lamar VFW Post No. 3691 and the Lamar American Legion. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards, throwing horse shoes and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce; one daughter, Candy (Brad) Williams, Chariton, Iowa; three sons, Robert (Judy) Hinkle, Waterloo, Iowa, Don (Kristi) Hinkle, Bronaugh, Mo., and Randy (Valerie) Hinkle, Iowa Falls, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Wendy, Chad, Amy, Jason, Jessica, Jerad, Eric and Drew; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Amos (Maryann) Hinkle, Bronaugh, Mo., and Milton (Mary Jane) Hinkle, Sheldon, Mo.; and one sister, Joy (Steve) Snyder, Warsaw, Mo.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 26, at Sheldon Cemetery, Sheldon, Mo.
