Bronaugh girls advance past Sheldon
BRONAUGH — Bronaugh's Lady Wildcats crushed the Sheldon Lady Panthers 62-20 at home Monday evening advancing them to 14-7 for the season, and to round two, in Class 1 District 7 tournament.
The Lady Cats took a commanding 17-9 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. The Lady Cats pulled away in the second quarter finishing 38-14 at the half. Scoring slowed in the second half with Bronaugh outscoring Sheldon 13-6 in the third and 11-0 in the fourth.
Bronaugh led shots made 25-8, three-point shots made 4-0, and free throws made 8-4.
The teams tied in rebounds 21 each, with Bronaugh leading offensive rebounds 12-3, and Sheldon leading defensive rebounds 18-9.
The Lady Cats lead assists 8-1, steals 10-0, bench points 11-7, second-chance points 14-4, and points off turnovers 19-0.
Bailey Cliffman led the Lady Cats in the books with 21 points, two rebounds, and three steals. Nicole Hagerman followed with 13 points, three rebounds, and two steals. Haley Byram and Emma Morris posted seven points each. Gretchen Banes logged six points and Arin Starnes and Josie Banes four points each.
Deborah Lamb led the Lady Panthers with seven points, and five rebounds. Madison Garren followed with six points, and one rebound. Brotain Korsi posted four points and Kimberleigh Colbert three points.
The Lady Cats travel to Hume on Wednesday to take on the Lady Hornets.
