Rebecca Belle Gilmore
Rebecca Belle Gilmore, 86, formerly of Milo, Mo., passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2021, at Moore-Few Care Center, in Nevada. Rebecca, the oldest of three children, was born Feb. 22, 1935, in Metz, Mo., to John C. and Beryl A. (Brown) Alexander. She married Delmar Ray Gilmore on Dec. 17, 1955, in Nevada, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 16, 2016.
Rebecca attended the Metz and Milo Schools and graduated from Nevada High School in 1953. She was a homemaker and a Christian woman. She played the piano at the Milo Baptist Church for a number of years as well as the Olive Branch Baptist Church, Sheldon Baptist Church, and Deerfield Baptist Churches at different times. Rebecca lived in the Nevada and Milo area all of her adult life. She enjoyed raising roses and flowers. She mostly enjoyed being with her family.
Survivors include two sons, Mark Gilmore (Sandy) of Nevada, and John Gilmore (Tina), Milo; four daughters, Debra Gilmore of Nevada, Suzann Page of Nevada, Mary Scotten (David), Harwood, and Jennifer Ogle, Fort Scott; 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; one sister, Linda Alexander, Castle Rock, Colo.; one brother, Darrell Alexander (Rosemary), Prescott, Wis.; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Delmar, she was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Gilmore; one grandson, Michael; and two great-grandchildren, Jasper, and Kennedi.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 26, at Milo Baptist Church with Pastor Steven Fox officiating. Cremation will follow and a private committal will be held at a later date in Milo Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada.
