Friday, April 2, 2021
Nevada High School Rennaissance finished their annual Can the Classroom food drive this week. Sponsor Casey Campbell said this was theor best year having brought in 3797 food items. Among the donations were 2321 boxes of mac and cheese, 889 cans of pasta, 437 boxes of cereal, and 150 other items. Each classroom that gatjered 200 items was "canned" for the day and the students treated to a plethora of fun activities instead. The food is being donated to Community Outreach to help feed local families. Never missing a chance for some fun, the high schoolers lined hundreds or boxes of mac and cheese down the school haul from the counselors office around to the front doors in domino fashion before recording them falling over, some not without help. With just a few minutes of class left, they packed the mac and cjeese back into bags and boxes and onto the pile of groceries by the front door to be delivered later in the day.
