Applegate receives 2021 Roger Kennedy Award

Retired Nevada R-5 Athletic Director and teacher Kevin McKinley presented this year's spring athletic awards on Friday, highlighted by senior Logan Applegate earning this year's Roger Kennedy Award — given annually to a male athlete who embodies unselfishness, sportsmanship, and love and respect of his fellow athletes, coaches, teachers, and youngsters.

Other honorees included: the Kelly Bradham Newcomer Award to Clara Swearingen and Eli Cheaney; Special Olympics Athlete of the Year to Tyler Kurdi; Outstanding Senior Athletes Tylin Heathman and Ben Hines; MSHSAA Award of Excellence to Applegate, Abigail Harder, Ezinne Mba, and Logan McNeley; the Crimson and Gray Lady Tiger Award to Heathman and Maleigha Hinton; the Robert A. Williams Memorial Wrestling Award to Jace Lee; and Scholar Athletes Harder, Hinton, Tretin Raney, Caitlyn Roberts, Kadence Trosper, and Camryn Warner.
