Several Tigers named to All-Big 8 West, All-District baseball

Baseball coaches in both the Big 8 West Conference and the Class 4 District 12 tournament this week revealed their selections for the All-Conference and All-District teams — with several Nevada High School Tigers making the cut.

First-team All-District honors went to NHS sophomore Case Sanderson, junior Eli Cheaney, and senior Blake Pryor. Senior Elijah Nadurata and junior Logan Marquardt were named second-team All-District.

Sanderson was also named first-team All-Big 8 West as both a pitcher and an outfielder (the latter as a unanimous selection). He was joined on the first team by Cheaney (a unanimously selected infielder).

Pryor was selected second-team All-Big 8 West as a catcher and honorable mention as a pitcher.

Nadurata was named second-team All-Big 8 West as an outfielder.

Marquardt was named honorable mention All-Big 8 West as a designated hitter.

Lamar's Case Tucker was named Big 8 West player of the year, while McDonald County's Kevin Burgi was chosen coach of the year.
