Griffons rained out all weekend

Tuesday, June 29, 2021

After three weeks of perfect baseball weather, the Nevada Griffons experienced their first rain-outs of the season this past weekend.

The storm clouds rolled in on Friday, when a road tilt against the St. Joseph Mustangs was postponed — and subsequently re-scheduled for July 19.

More rain over the weekend then caused the cancellations of Saturday's home game against the Queen City Crush and Monday's home rematch with the Kansas City Monarchs.

Sunday's game against Chillicothe was also scratched, but the teams agreed to play it Monday night at the Mudcats' stadium.

The Griffons Youth Baseball Camp graduation, which had been scheduled for Sunday, was also moved to this Saturday, July 3, before Nevada's game against Jefferson City.

Weather-permitting, the Griffons will play their first game at Lyons Stadium since June 17 on Tuesday night against the Sedalia Bombers.
