Griffons jumble schedule due to rain-outs
Thanks to this week's inclement weather, the Nevada Griffons were able to play only one game in the past seven days.
After switching locations for Tuesday's contest against the Bombers from Lyons Stadium to Liberty Park — and then driving all the way to Sedalia — the field there was deemed too wet for competition, and so the game was postponed.
Both squads agreed to make it up on Sunday, July 25, in Nevada. First pitch will be at 7 p.m.
After a day off on Wednesday, the Griffons had to postpone a Thursday night home match-up against the Des Moines Peak Prospects. But with the two teams already scheduled to go at it on Friday, it was decided to turn the night into a double-header starting at 6 p.m.
Weather-permitting, Nevada will host Jefferson City at 7 p.m. on Saturday before heading down to Springdale, Ark., on Sunday for a July 4 exhibition against the Joplin Outlaws.
The Griffons currently sit in third place in the MINK League South Division with a 9-11 record in league play (10-11 overall).
