Nevada netters shut out in Springfield
The Nevada High School girls tennis team had no luck on the road against Class 3 foe Springfield Catholic Wednesday afternoon, losing 9-0.
The No. 1 doubles team of Hallie Elkinton and Susannah Kimmell put up the best fight, but ultimately fell 8-4.
Abbi Baldwin competed in the closest singles match (no. 5) with an 8-3 losing effort.
No. 1 singles player Laura Kimmell lost 8-0, Elkinton lost no. 2 singles 8-1, Susannah Kimmell (no. 3 singles) and Alissa Stutesman (no. 4 singles) each lost 8-0, and Kourtnee Vestal fell in no. 6 singles 8-1.
Baldwin and Laura Kimmell lost no. 2 doubles 8-0. Stutesman and Vestal went down in no. 3 singles 8-2.
The JV doubles team of Kallie Erwin and Myah Jett was able to pick up a win, 6-0.
