Comets sweep in Columbia, Miller named CAC DOTW

The Cottey College volleyball team pulled off a perfect Saturday in Columbia — and the Continental Athletic Conference took notice.

After the Comets picked up a pair of sweeps over Stephens College (25-21, 25-23, 25-17) and Iowa Wesleyan (25-22, 25-18, 30-28), the CAC honored senior Lily Miller with its Defender of the Week award.

During Cottey’s three-game winning streak, which included a road sweep against Calvary University on Tuesday, the reigning conference player of the year led the way with 28 kills, 23 digs, and six blocks.

The 6-6 Comets will next host Ozark Christian on Wednesday.
