Glenna Rae Cartwright

Glenna Rae Cartwright, 77, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 14, at Moore Few Care Center following a brief illness. Glenna was born to Glenn and Armenta (Downs) Whitaker on Jan. 23, 1944, in Nevada, Mo.

Glenna attended Nevada High School. After high school, she was employed at the Nevada State Hospital. She then spent many years babysitting and caring for her grandchildren after school.

Glenna was a proud and devoted mother and grandmother. She loved having her family around and spoiling them with her cooking and baking. She enjoyed her dogs, feeding squirrels and hummingbirds as well as playing bingo at the Senior Center. She will be deeply missed by family and friends.

Glenna is survived by her son, Kevin Cartwright, Nevada, Mo., and her daughter, Angela Haun (Terry), Sidney, Neb.; 10 grandchildren, Tiffany Cartwright, Kansas City, Mo., Taylor Cartwright, Nevada, Mo., Cameron Cartwright (Lakyn), Nevada, Mo., Amanda Cartwright, Nevada, Mo., Alyssa Cole, Springfield, Mo., Patrick Zetting (Brittany), Lucasville, Ohio, Terry Lee Haun (Kerry), Austin, Texas, Johnathan Haun (Hannah), Sidney, Neb., Jessica Haun, Sidney, Neb., and Michelle Haun (Jesse), Rapid City, S.D.; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sue Mellenbruch, Rich Hill, Mo., and Sandy King (Tim), Hume, Mo.; and one brother, Garry Dial (Marta), Overland Park, Kan.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Clifford Cartwright III and Shawn Cartwright; her parents; and one brother, Ronald Downs.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ferry Funeral Home. At her request, no services are planned. Private interment will be in Newton Burial Park.
