Nathaniel Scott Brooks

Nathaniel Scott Brooks, 35, of Big Timber, Mont., passed away Sept. 10, 2021.

Nathan was born May 28, 1986, in Joplin, Mo., to Rob Brooks and Tammy Lynn (Bailey) Brooks. Nathan served in the United States Army 10th Mountain Division for four years, he was also a cook for a high-end restaurant before his passing. Nathan was a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart and the VFW.

Nathan is survived by his son, Israel Brooks, of Peru; his parents; two brothers, Trampas (Leisa), of Mt. Vernon, Mo., and Ryan Brooks, of Miami, Fla.; three nieces; one nephew; one great-nephew; two great-nieces; and several uncles and cousins.

Nathan was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Elmer and Shorty Bailey; paternal grandparents, Doc and Wuanita Brooks; and two aunts.

Graveside services will be held at 5 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 2, at Shiloh Cemetery in Liberal, Mo.

Contributions are suggested and made payable to ECHCS (Veterans Affairs Eastern Colorado Health Care System) or to Lamar Bank and Trust (where a fund has been set up for his son, Israel) in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
