The Vernon County Historical Society held its annual fundraiser for the Bushwhacker Museum Tuesday evening. The theme for the 2022 Night for the Museum fundraiser was "A League of Their Own: 1940s Women's Baseball."

The event took place in the Centennial Building at the Vernon County Fairgrounds and included dinner, a live auction, and a performance by the Nevada High School show choir "Treble Effects."

"It was a great turn out," stated Bushwhacker Museum Coordinator Will Tollerton. He noted there were approximately 140 tickets sold for the event.

All proceeds from the event will go to benefit the Vernon County Historical Society. "So, keeping the Bushwhacker Museum open and doing our public programs," explained Tollerton.

In addition to the dinner, the live auction raised funds for the same cause. Tollerton estimates that the auction brought approximately $1,500 in donations.

"I just want to thank the community for turning out, all the businesses who sponsored us, and particularly the Vernon County Commissioners for allowing us to use the Centennial Building," stated Tollerton in closing.
