Nevada resident seriously injured in Sunday wreck
A vehicle crash occurred in the early hours Sunday morning that claimed the life of one man and left a Nevada resident with serious injuries.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 1:29 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 18, on Missouri 52 West Highway, just west of county road NW 5001, in Bates County. A 2003 Chevrolet driven by 26-year-old Draven M. Wales, of Belton, Mo., travelled off the roadway, struck an embankment, and ejected both occupants. Neither were wearing a safety device. Nevada resident Dereck W. Page, 29-years-old, was a passenger in the vehicle.
Both Wales and Page were transported by Bates County EMS to Research Medical Center, in Kansas City, Mo. Wales was later pronounced deceased at the center. Page remains in serious condition.
