Alice Carol Holland
Alice Carol Holland, 83, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2022, at Moore-Few Care Center, in Nevada, following a lengthy illness. Carol was born Jan. 5, 1939, in Bronaugh, Mo., to Clarence I. and Irene E. (Boatright) Weis. She was united in marriage to Linn Holland on Oct. 5, 1958, at the Bronaugh Methodist Church and he survives of the home.
Carol grew up in Bronaugh and attended Bronaugh High School where she graduated as Valedictorian of the Class of 1956. She worked at Walmart in Kansas City for a time, then at Bronaugh Schools as secretary to the Superintendent. In 1984 she began working at First National Bank in Nevada as a teller, retiring in 2003. Carol was active in Vernon County Democrats, was a UMW district office holder, Moss House volunteer, and was also active in the Bronaugh Community. She was a longtime member of the Bronaugh Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband, Linn, she is survived by two children, a daughter, Lee Ann Holland, Nevada, and a son, Greg Holland and his companion, Vince, Waldport, Ore.; a brother, Earl Weis (Sally), Beulaville, N.C.; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 18, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada, with Ed Post officiating. Interment will follow in Worsley Cemetery in Bronaugh. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Friday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested in her name to Worsley Cemetery Association in care of Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada.
