Nevada City Council to consider bid for replacement of light pole during Tuesday evening meeting
The Nevada City Council will meet in regular session at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 21, in the council chambers (120 S. Ash St.) The council will have the second reading of several old business items, as well as considering three new business items.
Starting off the meeting, the council will consider the appointment of Caroline Taylor to the Nevada Library Board, term expiring june 2025.
Next, the council will consider Resolution No. 1695. This resolution would accept the bid and authorize payment to CDL Electric of Pittsburg, Kan., in the not-to-exceed amount of $25,000 for the replacement of a light pole, fixture, and base. On Feb. 8, an impaired driver struck the streetlight pole on the northbound I-49 Camp Clark exit off-ramp, causing damage to the pole, wire and base. CDL Electric of Pittsburg, Kan., was approved by council to repair the high mast lighting. This would amend their current agreement to add the repair and replacement of the damaged pole. The driver had insurance and the city is submitting a claim for the repair and replacement costs. It is noted that this is the second incident in the last three months. The first was a DUI incident, damaging the lighting control box at 2505 E. Austin Blvd.
The council will then move on to the second readings of a long list of items in old business, as well as new business. For a full list, visit https://nevadamo.gov/city-council-regular-session-tuesday-february-21-2023-at-7-....
