Nevada Police continue to investigate Wednesday evening shooting
On Wednesday, May 3, at approximately 10:38 p.m., officers from the Nevada Police Department and Vernon County Sheriff's Office responded to the 1200 block of North Main Street for a report of gunshots fired.
Responding emergency personnel located one male subject that had sustained gunshot wounds. The male subject was transported from the scene by ambulance and transferred to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield via air ambulance.
The Nevada Daily Mail followed up with the NPD and was notified that the investigation remains ongoing and they are still speaking with persons of interest regarding the incident. However, according to the NPD, there is no indication of an active threat to the public at this time.
