50th Annual Bushwhacker Days events kicked off Thursday

The 50th Annual Bushwhacker Days Royalty were crowned following the opening ceremonies on the Downtown Nevada Square Thursday evening. The candidates who were crowned royalty included (from left) Little Miss Katie Pettibon; Junior Miss Kierstyn Colopy; Princess Myia Connelly; Queen Linda Owens; and Miss Pioneer Autumn West (front).

The 50th Annual Bushwhacker Days Vernon County Festival kicked off Thursday evening with the opening ceremonies on the Downtown Nevada Square.

Reading the Bushwhacker Days Declaration was Nevada Mayor Kendall Vickers. Following this, Bushwhacker Museum Director Will Tollerton gave a brief history of the Bushwhackers.

The evening also included the coronation of the Bushwhacker Days royalty. Being crowned were Queen Linda Owens, Princess Myia Connelly, Junior Miss Kierstyn Colopy, Little Miss Katie Pettibon, and Miss Pioneer Autumn West.
