Shelby “Andy” Floyd Anderson Sr.
Shelby “Andy” Floyd Anderson, Sr. passed away June 7, 2023, at the age of 79. Andy was born in Nevada, Mo., July 11, 1943, to Marie M. (Simpson) Anderson and Shelby J. Anderson and was the eldest of two sons. He was known and loved by many in the community and earned his living doing what he loved for many years, mowing lawns.
He was dependable, had a strong work ethic, and was always there to help those in need.
He loved hunting, fishing, crab legs, Sonic’s happy hour, making and gifting venison jerky, Walmart walks and visits with friends, 90 Day Fiance, spending time with family, traveling to Florida, and being ornery.
His dislikes included, but were not limited to, his 1st wife’s spaghetti sauce and when his daughter would pause his TV shows. He dreamed of retiring from the lawn industry to fulfill other lifelong goals, but alas, the lawns needed him more.
He is survived by his Sweetheart, April Race; brother, Bob Anderson (Tess); his children, Faith DeNucci (Rick), Bear Hudson (Miranda), and Shelby Anderson Jr. (Jamie); his grandchildren, Candice DeNucci, Echo Evans, Katie Fay Hudson, Damian Anderson, and Baby Anderson; his aunts and uncles, Wilma “Baby Aunt” Hendrix (Gordon), Reva Fanning (Bob - D), and Carl Simpson (Pat). He also had a special place in his heart for his many cousins, nieces, nephews, and all who called him family.
He loved well and was well loved. He will be greatly missed.
Services will be held on Tuesday, June 20, from 2 to 3 p.m., at The Fraternal Order of Eagles, located at 3313 East Austin Blvd., Nevada, Mo. 64772.
