Walker Fun Days 2023: Weekend of festivities and community spirit

The Walker Fun Days event, held on Friday and Saturday, September 15-16, proved to be a resounding success, with attendees of all ages having a blast throughout the weekend.

Kicking off the festivities on Saturday morning, the Northeast Vernon County (NEVC) FFA Chapter treated everyone to a delightful Breakfast Feed, with a nominal charge. Attendees relished a hearty meal to fuel their day of fun.

During the brief intermission between the Breakfast Feed and the highly anticipated Baby Contest, City Hall was abuzz with a Silent Auction, offering a chance for attendees to snag some exciting items.

The Baby Contest brought smiles and cheers as proud parents showcased their adorable little ones. Following this heartwarming event, the Cake Walk Contest offered entertainment for both the young and the young at heart.

Motor enthusiasts reveled in the Car/Truck/Tractor/Motorcycle/Semi’s Show, while kids had a blast with a variety of entertaining games designed just for them.

And, of course, the highlight of the event was the infamous parade, capturing the attention and excitement of everyone in attendance.

Food vendors tantalized taste buds, booths showcased local talent and products, and attendees cherished the opportunity to reconnect with long-lost friends and acquaintances.
