Area events planned for Veterans Day

With Veterans Day on Saturday, Nov. 11, there are several events planned throughout the Vernon County area for the day and on the days leading up to it. The following is a list of activities planned in honor of Veterans Day.

Thursday, Nov. 9

• Bronaugh Schools will host a Veterans Day assembly at 9 a.m.

Friday, Nov. 10

• Sheldon Schools will host a Veterans Day assembly at 9:30 a.m.

• NEVC Schools will host a Veterans Day assembly at 9 a.m., followed by a reception.

• Nevada High School will host a Veterans Breakfast at 9 a.m., and an assembly at 11 a.m.

Saturday, Nov. 11

• Elks Lodge will host a Veterans Lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

• The VFW will host snacks and drinks for Veterans from 5 to 7 p.m.

• The American Legion will host a Veterans Lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

• A Veterans Day parade will be held at 10 a.m., on the Nevada Square.
