Chamber celebrates Margaritaville style

A little more than 300 people, most donning their best Hawaiian attire, attended the annual Nevada/Vernon County Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet Friday. See photos of award winners on page 6. The theme for the banquet was "Margaritaville."

Jessica Sloniker, Nevada/Vernon County Chamber of Commerce executive director, has been busy preparing for the annual Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet for the community which was held Friday at the Eagles building. Despite the untimely arctic wind blowing in from the north, guests arrived in festive Floridian flare with Hawaiian-style attire and some even donning shorts, in keeping with the evening’s theme of “Margaritaville.” The gathering included awards, a tiki bar, a buffet dinner, music by Brother Zehr, a silent auction and raffles from local business donations.
