Teresa Jane Teel
Teresa Jane Teel, known to her loved ones as Terri, passed away after a brief illness on April 29, 2024, in Denver, Colorado, at the age of 59. She was born on March 18, 1965, in Nevada, Missouri, to Bonnie Jane Teel and the late Fred Teel.
Terri was a vibrant and unique individual, cherished for her humor, intelligence, impeccable sense of style and exhaustive research skills applied to nearly any topic. Despite these amazing qualities, Terri eschewed any attention for them and was an enemy to any photographer set on taking her photograph. She was a devoted mother to Grayson and Gus, a loving spouse to her husband Derik, a beloved daughter to her mother Bonnie, and a treasured sibling to her sister Beth and Beth's husband Scott.
In her professional life, Terri dedicated herself to serving others through her career at the Veterans Administration. She was known for her commitment to helping those in need and her compassion.
Outside of work, Terri indulged in her hobbies of collecting antiques and art, activities that brought her great joy and fulfillment. Her keen eye for unique pieces made her collection truly exceptional. Terri adored her French bulldogs and enjoyed international show circuit success with several of her Frenchies over the years. Her love for animals didn't end with her Frenchies as she also made homes for cats throughout her life which were always just as unique as Terri.
Terri will be deeply missed by her husband Derik Frioud, children Grayson Teel McDonald and Augustin Frederick Frioud, mother Bonnie Teel, sister Beth Galante, brother-in-law Scott Galante, niece Margaret Galante, uncle Ron Smith, mother and father in law, Linda and Jean Pierre Frioud, extended family, and all those who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.
Thanks to her generosity in donating her organs, three people were given the gift of life following her passing.
A private celebration of Terri and her life was held at Prairie View Farm in Vernon County on June 8th, 2024.
For those who desire to remember Terri with a memorial, they may contribute to Nevada Missouri Animal Shelter, Vernon County People for Pets, or The McGennis Youth Center, in her memory.
