Baldwin and his time in the calaboose now part of local history

Jack Baldwin, 85, last known living inmate at the Bushwhacker Jail, said he would sit up in the north window and watch the traffic go by, marking his time on the wall, which he now has framed.

The email said, “Hello, I was wondering who I would get in contact with to have an article wrote up. My 85-year-old dad (Othal Baldwin aka Jack) is the last known living inmate of the Bushwhacker jail. We are having a float in the parade Saturday and the float will look like a jail cell. The family thinks it would be neat if we could get an article written up that tells a little about his history in the jail…If this is something you all would be interested in please let me know.”
