Sally Marie Hutchins

Sally Marie Hutchins, 72, Nevada, MO passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at the NorthCare Hospice House in North Kansas City, MO. Sally was born November 23, 1951 in Salt Lake City, UT to Lamont Felt and Helen (Davidson) Toronto. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Hutchins on April 6, 1978 in Salt Lake City and he preceded her in death on April 10, 2022.

 

     Sally was raised in Salt Lake City and graduated from high school there. She then graduated from Brigham Young University and served on a mission in Japan following college. Sally taught school for a number of years in Salth Lake City before coming to Nevada in 2003 where she worked for the Nevada R-5 School District as a substitute teacher. Later, she worked in the family business helping to manage Sav-A-Lot Grocery Store in Kansas. A large part of Sally’s life was spent raising her children and serving her church and community.

 

      Sally is survived by six sons, Jerome (Stacey) Hutchins, Rexburg, ID, Russell (Rebecca) Hutchins, Atlanta, GA, John (Megan) Hutchins, Clearfield, UT, Jacob Hutchins, Nevada, MO,  Robert Hutchins, Nevada, MO and Joseph (Megan) Hutchins, Atlanta, GA; one daughter, Rosemarie (Wayne) Smith, Cookeville, TN; two brothers, David Toronto, Utah, and Joy Toronto (Cindy), Utah; a sister, Wendy Crapo (Bruce); 20 grandchildren, Marc-Anthony, Abigail, Sarah, Scott, Ruth, Raymond, Hannah, Elisabeth, Samuel, and Jack Smith, Ariana, Gaby, Carson, Michael, Thomas, Oliver, Emmaline, Chayden and Sophia Hutchins; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by and her parents, as well as a grandson, Ethan Hutchins.

 

     Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 23, 2024 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Brandon Sohm officiating. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery in Nevada. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
