William L. “Bill” Gollhofer

William L. “Bill” Gollhofer, age 86, Nevada, MO, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024 at Kansas City Hospice House following a brief illness. Bill was born November 11, 1937 in Sarcoxie, MO to William and Dena Gollhofer.

Bill graduated from Pierce City High School in 1955 and served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1958 in Germany. On August 18, 1962, Bill married Linda Sue Good, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nevada, MO. Bill and Linda recently celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary. Bill served over 30 years as a law enforcement officer in Kansas City, MO, the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office, and the Vernon County Prosecutor’s office. Bill enjoyed raising cattle and gardening with Linda over the many years on their farm. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and had a love of nature.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents William and Dena, his sister Ann Wilson, and brother Francis (Bud) Gollhofer.

Bill’s greatest love was for family and God. He was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus #855.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nevada with Fr. Peter Savidge officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Mt. Calvary cemetery in Nevada.  A Rosary service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening followed by Visitation until 6:30 pm at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.

In Lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Vernon County Cancer Relief, or the Kansas City Hospice House c/o Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.
