Vickie Lynn (Terry) Briscoe
Vickie Lynn (Terry) Briscoe, age 71, of Carl Junction, Missouri, passed away September 8, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma in the presence of her son.
She grew up in Nebraska, Colorado, and Illinois before moving to Nevada, Missouri, where she spent most of her adult life. She is the daughter of the late Betty and Dale Terry.
She is survived by her son Shawn and his wife Rebekah of Anchorage, Alaska. She has two grandchildren who she adored, Ben and Hannah Briscoe. Her sister is Debra Pinta of Carl Junction, Missouri. She has two nephews, Dan Pinta and his wife Jennifer and Mark Pinta and his wife Jenni.
Vickie passed away unexpectedly from complications surrounding COVID-19. She was visited in the hospital by her son, sister, and two nephews during her week in the intensive care unit of the Oklahoma Heart Institute. She communicated with her son for nearly three hours on Sunday afternoon before her body could no longer sustain itself.
Vickie always sought ways to support youth in the community both directly and indirectly. As part of that commitment to the community she was a member of multiple organizations, including Laurels, Girl Empowerment, and Soroptimist International.
Vickie also enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, traveling, and caring for her many cats and dogs.
Most of all, Vickie loved spending time with her family and really enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and her four great-nephews and great-nieces.
Her family will hold a memorial service at the United Methodist Church in Nevada, Missouri, on October 26th at 2:00 pm.
