Tigers dominate Cardinals in district opener

Beneath the arc of the lights at Logan Field on Friday night, the Nevada Tigers righted their ship over the visiting Raytown South Cardinals of suburban Kansas City, 41-12. The Tigers came into the contest 7-2 after dropping a road contest last week at district top seeded Pleasant Hill, 46-21. Meanwhile, the Cardinals, 4-5, dropped a road decision last Friday at Grandview, 26-7. The two teams have met one time in the past, a 2017 district contest in which Nevada won 48-32.

Coming into the contest, Nevada was averaging 26 points per game while giving up 24 points on defense. The Tiger rushing attack has averaged 255 yards through the first nine games of the season. Meanwhile, Raytown South was averaging 14 points on offense while giving up 31 points per contest.
