Andrew James Miller

Andrew James Miller, 56, of Nevada MO passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield MO following a motorcycle accident. Andy was born February 24, 1968 in Nevada MO to Elmer Noel Miller and Bobbie Jean (Cargill) Miller. 

Andy was the youngest of five children who grew up on the family farm south of Rich Hill. Andy enjoyed hunting, fishing, swimming, riding bikes, helping on the farm, and spending time with his siblings and cousins. Andy worked several places including Unique Optical, Thorco Industries, MARS Foods, Four River Kennels, and Quality Products. He spent many summers helping his Dad sell sweet corn that was raised on the family farm. 

Andy was married to Cara Miller from September 29, 2005 to 2017. From this marriage Andy became a father to Brandy Hamilton and Destany Dutcher. 

Andy was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Bobbie Miller, and his brother-in-law Dean Isaacson. He is survived by his siblings: Becky Isaacson of Adair OK, Joe Miller (Lisa) of Nevada MO, Eileen Casey (Earl) of Rich Hill MO, and Karen Tillery (Ken) of Rich Hill MO. He is survived by daughters Andrea Miller and Autumn Moffatt, many nieces, nephews and cousins, step-children Brandy Hamilton and Destany Dutcher (Derrick), and step-grandchildren Deklyn, Dristin, and Drew Dutcher. Drew was named after Andrew and they had a close bond. 

Andy was hard-working and always willing to help others. He loved to hunt for mushrooms (morels) and ride around town on his mowers or motorbikes. He was a gifted story-teller and often had his friends and family rolling in laughter. Andy was loved and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Andy was saved and is now resting in peace. 

Everyone is invited to a Celebration of Life service that will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at the Trent’s BBQ building, 720 East Walnut St, Rich Hill MO at 11:00 am. Snacks will be served after the service
