Iconic steeple to be removed soon

The man behind the machines, Jeff Coonrod, of Coonrod’s Construction, has been tasked with taking down the First Christian Church of Nevada on the corner of Austin Boulevard and Washington Street, just three months after the Aug. 17 first destroyed the facility.

Jeff Coonrod of Coonrod Construction in Nevada has a hefty job ahead of him. As if the formidable excavators – one with a 60-foot reach – parked in the already cleared out area that once held the First Christian Church sanctuary weren’t enough.
