The 3-1 Nevada Tigers varsity squad continued play in the 78th Annual Carthage Basketball Tournament against the Ft. Smith Southside Friday night. Nevada is coming off a 61-37 defeat at the hands of the Raymore-Peculiar Panthers.  Southside lost a tough battle to the Webb City Cardinals, 55-52, to fall to 2-5 on the young season. Nevada came into the contest averaging 52 points per game while giving up 45 points on defense.  The two schools, over 200 miles apart, have actually met for the past three years in the Carthage Tournament.  Nevada has taken two out of three of those contests including last year’s match up by a score of 63-48.
