Bobby Hines
Bobby Hines, age 84 of Milo, Missouri passed away December 31st at Medicalodge Nursing Home in Nevada. He was born October 5, 1940 in Martin, South Dakota to George and Francis (Barto) Hines. During his childhood, the family lived in Southern California, Nebraska and Brentwood, AR, before settling in Lamar, Missouri.
Bob was united in marriage to Loretta J. Fite on October 14, 1960 at the Assembly of God Church in Lamar, Missouri. Following their marriage, Bob and Loretta lived in Lamar and Stockton before relocating to Milo in 1972. Bob and Loretta had two children, Ronnette and Kevin. Bob worked for Lawn Boy and O’Sullivan in Lamar and he helped construct the Stockton Dam. After moving to Milo, he worked as a custodian at Bryan School and later at the Fram plant in Nevada prior to his retirement.
As a young man, Bob was very athletic and a local baseball pitching talent. He also played golf and tennis. Bob enjoyed fishing, repairing small engines and having coffee with friends. He also enjoyed cracking and selling pecans each fall that were grown on Kevin and Ronnette’s farm.
Survivors include, a daughter, Ronnette (Joe) Wilson of Nevada, son Kevin Hines of Nevada and four grandchildren, Jessica (David) Sleezer of Olathe, Ks, Joshua Wilson of Kansas City, KS, Nathan Hines of Nevada, MO and Karla Hines of Nevada MO, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta, his parents, and his four brothers, Loy, Boyd, Maurice and Monty Hines.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday January 7, 2024 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Pastor Dennis Engelbrecht officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 on Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Milo Cemetery.
