Danny LaVerne Eaton

Danny LaVerne Eaton, 74, Walker, MO passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, MO.
Danny was born Oct. 26 1950 to Ira and Dorothy Eaton in Nevada, MO. In 1954 their family moved to Montana and moved again to Modesto CA in 1957, where he developed his love for sports and began rooting for many LA teams such as the Dodgers, Lakers and the Rams. They moved back to Nevada in 1962, and he graduated from Nevada High School in 1969. He was drafted into the Army and served from 1970-1972 as a tanker with the Big Red One Battalion in Germany. Their life expectancy serving on that line if the enemy invaded was 13 minutes, being only 90 km from the Russian border. He was able to return home in 1972 and began working for Curtis and Sons. Soon after, he met Ardyth Christine Berry and in his words, “Hubba Hubba, it was love at first sight.” They were married March 11, 1973 at Berea Christian Church. They were blessed with four boys Jason, Travis, Deric, and Shawn.
Danny knew from a young age he wanted to be a carpenter, he started by taking builders trades in High school. After graduation he spent his whole career in carpentry except for his time in the service. Danny and his brothers started Eaton Brothers Construction in 1977 which continued until his retirement in 2022.
In 1980 Danny was baptized into Christ and was a member of Walker Christian Church where he served as a Deacon for years, and an Elder until his death. He taught many Sunday School lessons and coordinated many building additions, remodels, and repairs. Danny left a great legacy loving Christ and sharing that love with everyone. With faith being the most important thing in his life, he was a great role model for all of his kids and grandkids.
Danny loved spending time with his kids and grandkids watching and coaching many ball games. He always had time to encourage and help them with whatever they were involved with. He said sports was his vice, but he used it as a way to relieve lots of stress. He loved to watch many sports, even recording games he couldn’t watch live. But coaching each of his boys and even being a coach for the grandkids was a highlight of his life.
Danny is survived by his wife Christine of the home; four sons, Jason Eaton (Kelly), Richards, MO, Travis Eaton (Jennifer), Nevada, MO, Deric Eaton, Walker, MO, and Shawn Eaton (Amanda), Walker, MO; nine grandchildren, Lauren Vandiver (Ben), Bryce Eaton, Olivia Eaton, Cody Eaton, Peyton Eaton, Hunter Eaton, Sarina Eaton, Kimber Eaton, and Ruger Eaton; and one great-granddaughter, Maysa Eaton; four siblings, Darrell Eaton (Debbie), Nevada, MO, Donna Berry (Dennis), Walker, MO, Dale Eaton (Nancy), Nevada, MO, and Deana Kerbs (Bob), Nevada, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.
