Leta Lucille Dicks Bloesser

Leta Lucille Dicks Bloesser, 90, of rural Walker, MO went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 24, 2025. Leta was born in Nevada, MO, on December 13, 1934, the daughter of Harry C. and Ida (Horning) Dicks of Walker. On April 4, 1954, she was united in marriage to Ralph Thomas Bloesser at Berea Christian Church in the Ketterman area of rural Vernon County, MO. To this union two daughters were born.
Leta graduated from Walker R-4 School Class of 1952. She spent her lifetime working alongside her husband, Tom, who was a school classmate of hers. Leta and Tom enjoyed 42 years of row crop farming and dairy production together. When you found Tom in the fields you would also find Leta bringing meals or driving the tractors alongside. Leta loved the outdoors. She could always be found gardening flowers and vegetables, canning produce, was an accomplished seamstress - sewing for her girls, and later enjoyed sharing gardening and canning with her grandchildren. In recent years, she enjoyed spending time with her young great-grandchildren coloring, drawing, and doing various crafts.
Leta was a lifelong member of the Walker Christian Church where she served many roles throughout the years. She spent many hours serving in the kitchen for church dinners and in recent years enjoyed her time with the women’s group. She was also a member of Nevada Eastern Star, and Blue Mound Grange #2230. Leta also enjoyed volunteering her time helping area youth with various 4-H projects.
Leta is survived by two daughters, Jackie and Virgil (Rocky) Caldwell, Walker, MO, and Janet Hughes, Nevada, MO; five grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous nephews, nieces and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tom; and a son-in-law, Ron Hughes.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Pastor Randy Gariss and Norm Conklin officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park in Nevada. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home.
