Jack Wayne Caparoon, Jr.

Jack Wayne Caparoon, Jr., age 86, Sheldon, MO passed from this life on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at his home in Sheldon. Jack was born October 24, 1938 in Kansas City, MO to Jack Wayne and Evelyn Ruth (Jamison) Caparoon. In 1969 he was united in marriage to Janice Gaylene Payton in San Diego, CA and she survives of the home.

     Jack was raised in Kansas City and came to Sheldon at the age of 14. He graduated from Sheldon High School Class of 1957. Jack served in the United States Navy for three years on a repair ship during the Vietnam War. Following his years in the service he returned to the Kansas City area where he managed a Vision Optical Store. His work later took him to Warrensburg, MO. Upon his return to Vernon County, Jack worked at Orscheln’s in Nevada and later in Lamar for a number of years. Jack was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Grandview.

     In addition to his wife Janice, he is survived by three children: Jeff Caparoon, Gardner, KS, Janine Hobbs (Brian), Holden, MO, and Jerry Caparoon, Sheldon; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim and Joe.

     Graveside services with military funeral honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO.
