American Legion Post gets improvements inside and out

The Nevada American Legion Post 2 building, part of the historic downtown service area, is getting more than a mere facelift.

Leon Ogier probably didn’t leave his home in the Nevada area for France with the intent of having an American Legion Post named after him. As a member of Company B, 128th Machine Gun Battalion, 35th Division, Nevada Unit, Ogier fought for his country and was fatally wounded in France in 1918. He is interred at Newton Cemetery.
